Since 1997 Music Industry Workshop (MIW) has offered affordable comprehensive training and resources in recording, mixing, digital music production, DJ technology, live sound, video production, and music business.
Students Coming Together
Over the years we have trained thousands of musicians, DJs, producers, and entrepreneurs from all walks of life. Our training programs are perfect for those who want to gain real world experience and valuable skills without spending an arm and a leg.

We work hard to make the Chicago area music scene stronger every day by offering affordable training, counseling, support, and tons of free events for the public.

Our award winning faculty and staff is comprised of over (40) industry experts including Grammy Award winning artists, engineers, and producers, international DJs, college professors, record label executives, best selling authors, entertainment lawyers, marketing and technology gurus, artist development specialists, and much more.
State-of-the-Art Facilities
Our state-of-the-art facility is both a school and a world class recording studio used by major label artists as well as local bands. These are the same studios used by Columbia College and DePaul University to teach their recording and production programs.
One of the coolest things about this facility is the co-mingling and networking opportunities that take place every day as students, instructors, staff, and studio clients all get to know each other in this shared commercial and academic space. The end result is a communal environment where professionals and students work together to reach their common goals of making better music.
